Batemans Brewery

Based in an old windmill dating back two centuries and overlooking the River Steeping, Batemans Brewery is one of the oldest and most picturesque breweries in the country.

Brewery tours take place twice a day in the summer and once during the winter. The tours are fun and humorous beginning with the Victorian Brewhouse, where much of the equipment is made of brass or copper followed by the magnificent new Brewhouse nicknamed the Theatre of Beers'. All tours are conducted by an experienced and entertaining guide.

Evening tours include full access to all the Visitors Centre’s facilities including two ½ pint samples of Batemans Beers from the well stocked bar and a delicious Lincolnshire supper

NatureLand Seal Sanctuary

First and foremost – we are a Sanctuary dedicated to treating and returning seals to their natural habitat, however since opening, Natureland has dealt with, and returned to the wild whenever possible, many unusual animal visitors including dolphins and whales, a “lost” walrus and pelican, plus numerous oiled seabirds and injured birds of prey.

Every year, particularly during the breeding season, seal pups are washed up on the beaches around Skegness, abandoned or separated from their mothers by the treacherous tides. The lucky ones are brought to Natureland’s Seal Hospital where they are cared for by dedicated staff members.

Donna Nook

Donna Nook National Nature Reserve covers more than 10 km (6.25 miles) of coastline between Grainthorpe Haven in the north and Saltfleet in the south where it borders the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe National Nature Reserve.

The viewing area at the foot of the sand dunes reduces disturbance to the seals and ensures the safety of visitors.
Seals are large predators and are very powerful. They can move surprisingly quickly and, having teeth similar to a dog, can inflict a nasty bite – including the pups.
Mothers with pups can be very protective and big bulls can be aggressive. A mother seal may abandon her pup if it smells of humans or dogs.

Best time for viewing is November and December
